Half-finished. Half-trusted. Half the bottle is filler.
- 01 Sand.Silicon Dioxide · E551Anti-caking agent. The same compound used in glass, concrete, and silica gel sachets. Lets capsule machines run fast — does nothing for you.
- 02 Wax.Magnesium StearateIndustrial lubricant. Coats pills so they slide through manufacturing dies. Studies link it to reduced absorption of the actual active ingredient.
- 03 Titanium paint.Titanium Dioxide · E171Pigment for whiteness. Banned as a food additive in the EU since 2022 over cellular and DNA safety concerns. Still legal in your North American pills.
- 04 Corn sugar.Maltodextrin · GI 110Hidden sugar. Glycemic index of 110 — higher than table sugar. Used as a flavorless filler in 'no sugar added' powders. Spikes your blood glucose anyway.
- 05 Candy dye.FD&C Red 40 · Yellow 5 · Blue 1Petroleum-derived colorants. Required EU warning labels for behavioral effects in children. They are there to make the product look 'fresh.'
- 06 B12 bound to cyanide.CyanocobalaminThe cheapest synthetic B12. Your liver has to detach the cyanide before your body can use any of it. The natural form (methylcobalamin) costs more — most labels won't pay for it.
- 07 Petroleum Vitamin E.DL-Alpha TocopherolSynthetic vitamin E from crude oil derivatives. About half as bioactive as the natural d-alpha form. Most multivitamins use it because it's cheap.
- 08 Rust.Ferrous Sulfate · FeSO₄Inorganic iron. The same compound that builds rust. Common cause of nausea, constipation, and stomach pain. Most of it passes through unabsorbed.
