Hippophae — "Shining Horse"

Origin Story

Why the Horse?

In ancient Greece, sea buckthorn was called Hippophae — meaning "shining horse."

During his campaigns across Persia and into what is now Iran, Alexander the Great drove his army through brutal terrain. His horses carried armor, weapons, and ambition — and many became exhausted, wounded, and too weak to continue. Some were left behind as the march pressed forward.

Weeks later, on the return journey, Alexander found those same horses transformed.

They had been grazing on a wild, thorned shrub growing across the mountainsides.

Their coats gleamed.
Their bodies had regained weight.
Their strength had returned.

The Greeks named the plant Hippophae — from hippos (horse) and phaos (to shine).

Not for vanity.

For restoration.

That is why the horse lives in our logo.

It represents resilience — not surface shine, but deep renewal from within.

How It Started

Human Renaissance didn't begin as a business idea. It began as a personal search for answers.

For years, I struggled with eczema, psoriasis, and chronic skin inflammation. I tried elimination diets, supplements, blood tests, specialists — exhausting options without lasting results.

While traveling through Mongolia, I was introduced to sea buckthorn as a daily nutritional staple. It wasn't marketed as a miracle. It was simply part of life there.

Within weeks of consistent use, my skin began to improve.

That experience raised a question that changed everything:

What makes this berry different?

The Science Behind the Berry

Sea buckthorn is not just another superfood trend. It has been studied extensively for its role in:

Lipid metabolism & cholesterol balance

Inflammatory response

Antioxidant protection

Skin and mucosal integrity

It naturally contains omegas 3, 6, and 9 — and the rare omega-7 — along with over 190 identified bioactive compounds including carotenoids, flavonoids, plant sterols, and fat-soluble vitamins.

What makes it unique is not just what it contains — but how it delivers it. Sea buckthorn provides this spectrum of nutrients in a natural whole-food matrix that supports efficient absorption and cellular utilization.

This isn't folklore. It's documented nutritional science.

Sourced Where It Grows Strongest

Sea buckthorn does not grow in comfort.

It thrives at high altitudes, in extreme cold, and in arid desert conditions. Environmental stress forces the plant to adapt — increasing the concentration of protective compounds that support its survival.

We source exclusively from small, high-altitude farmers who hand-harvest their berries once per year.

No industrial-scale farming.
No diluted supply chains.

Because of this, our supply is limited. The harvest is seasonal. When it's gone, it's gone.

Daily sea buckthorn sachets

Built for Consistency

We saw a problem in the market.

Large bottles that oxidize after opening. Products that sit in refrigerators. Inconsistent dosing. Hard to stay disciplined.

So we built something different.

Daily 30-milliliter sachets.
Portable. Measured. Simple.

Whole-food nutrition works at a cellular level. It requires consistency over time — not quick spikes or overnight claims. That's why we created a two-month supply: enough time for your body to respond.

What Next?

At Human Renaissance, we began with one simple intention: to offer sea buckthorn exactly as we first experienced it — whole, wild, and untouched.

But vision evolves.

For the past four years, we've been refining our craft — studying the berry beyond tradition and developing advanced extraction methods without compromising integrity.

We are now preparing to launch Sea Buckthorn soft gels using supercritical CO₂ extraction — a clean, solvent-free process that concentrates the berry's most bioactive compounds, including rare Omega-7 and essential fatty acids. By isolating and protecting these lipids in a stable oil form, the soft gels provide a more concentrated and targeted delivery for those seeking deeper support.

The sachets remain whole-berry nutrition.

The soft gels are precision.

Sea buckthorn will remain our only focus.

Not a trend. Not a blend. A discipline.

One plant. Mastered fully.
